Padre Pio was a twentieth century Capuchin priest of extraordinary humility, compassion, and sanctity. He bore the wounds of Christ in his hands, feet, and body from September 20, 1918 until the day of his death on September 23, 1968, aged 81. Thousands of people have been blessed with spiritual comfort and healing due to the intercession of Padre Pio. On May 2, 1999, he was beatified by Pope John Paul II. On June 16, 2002 he was made Saint Pio of Pietrelcina. Gifts of the SpiritIn addition to the stigmata, Padre Pio was blessed with the spiritual gifts of perfume, bi-location, prophecy, conversion, reading of souls, and miraculous cures. He also levitated during Mass. Prayers to Padre Pio for relief of suffering are effective. Once adopted as his spiritual child, Saint Pio will guard you and your whole family.
